Following a mysterious absence of several years, the Man of Steel comes back to Earth in the epic action-adventure Superman Returns, a soaring new chapter in the saga of one of the world's most beloved superheroes. While an old enemy plots to render him powerless once and for all, Superman faces the heartbreaking realization that the woman he loves, Lois Lane, has moved on with her life.
Or has she? Superman's bittersweet return challenges him to bridge the distance between them while finding a place in a society that has learned to survive without him. In an attempt to protect the world he loves from cataclysmic destruction, Superman embarks on an epic journey of redemption that takes him from the depths of the ocean to the far reaches of outer space.
FX Rating 4/5 stars. Great movie! A must watch after the original series. One gripe though, the movie implies that he has a son, which is crap, Superman and Lois never had any children in the original series.

Lightning McQueen (voice of OWEN WILSON), a hotshot rookie race car driven to succeed, discovers that life is about the journey, not the finish line, when he finds himself unexpectedly detoured in the sleepy Route 66 town of Radiator Springs. On route across the country to the big Piston Cup Championship in California to compete against two seasoned pros, McQueen gets to know the town’s offbeat characters –including Sally (a snazzy 2002 Porsche voiced by BONNIE HUNT), Doc Hudson (a 1951 Hudson Hornet with a mysterious past, voiced by PAUL NEWMAN), and Mater (a rusty but trusty tow truck voiced by LARRY THE CABLE GUY) – who help him realize that there are more important things than trophies, fame and sponsorship.
The all-star vocal cast also includes free-wheeling performances by racing legend Richard Petty and Cheech Marin. Fueled with plenty of humor, action, heartfelt drama, and amazing new technical feats, CARS is a high octane delight for moviegoers of all ages.
Another great animation movie from Pixar with Family morals and values for friends alike. FX rating - 3.5/5 stars

Sean Boswell, who has always been an outsider. A loner at school, his only connection to the indifferent world around him is through illegal street racing -- which has made him particularly unpopular with the local authorities. To avoid jail time, Sean is sent out of the country to live with his uncle in the military, in a cramped apartment in a low-rent section of Tokyo. In the land that gave birth to the majority of modified racers on the road, the simple street race has been replaced by the ultimate pedal-to-the-metal, gravity-defying automotive challenge ... drift racing, a deadly combination of brutal speed on heart stopping courses of hairpin turns and switchbacks. For his first unsuccessful foray in drift racing, Shean unknowingly takes on D.K., the "Drift King," with ties to the Yakuza, the Japanese crime machine. The only way he can pay off the debt of his loss is to venture into the deadly realm of the Tokyo underworld, where the stakes are life and death.
FX Rating - 2.5/5 The 2nd instalment to "The Fast and The Furious" series was better, this one was typical with hollywood style explosions, camera angles and car wreaks, weak plot development.

WEIRD 9/11 FACTS
Message: Message: Follow the steps at the end, this is pretty creepy!
1) New York City has 11 letters
2) Afghanistan has 11 letters.
3) Ramsin Yuseb (The terrorist who threatened to destroy the Twin Towers in 1993) has 11 letters.
4) George W Bush has 11 letters.
This could be a mere coincidence, but this gets more interesting:
1) New York is the 11th state.
2) The first plane crashing against the Twin Towers was flight number 11.
3) Flight 11 was carrying 92 passengers. 9 + 2 = 11
4) Flight 77 which also hit Twin Towers, was carrying 65 passengers. 6+5 = 11
5) The tragedy was on September 11, or 9/11 as it is now known. 9 + 1+ 1 = 11
6) The date is equal to the US emergency services telephone number 911. 9 + 1 + 1 = 11.
Sheer coincidence..?! Read on and make up your own mind:
1) The total number of victims inside all the hi-jacked planes was 254. 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
2) September 11 is day number 254 of the calendar year. Again 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
3) The Madrid bombing took place on 3/11/2004. 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 11.
4) The tragedy of Madrid happened 911 days after the Twin Towers incident.
Now this is where things get totally eerie: The most recognized symbol for the US, after the
Stars & Stripes, is the Eagle. The following verse is taken from the Quran, the Islamic holy book:
"For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. He wrath of the Eagle
would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more
rejoiced: for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and there was peace."
That verse is number 9.11 of the Quran. Still unconvinced about all of this..?! Try this and see how you feel afterwards, it made my hair stand on end:
Open Microsoft Word and do the following:
1. Type in capitals Q33 NY. This is the flight number of the first plane to hit one of the Twin Towers.
2. Highlight the Q33 NY.
3. Change the font size to 48.
4. Change the actual font to the WINGDINGS

Korea Day 4-7

Today it’s off to Seoul!
Guess where did we visit? We went to "Da Chang Jing"! or "Jewel in the palace", Dae Jang Geum theme park, MBC's filming studio, of the Korean drama "Jewel in the palace".

For all the Jewel in the Palace fans, eat your eyes out!

These are the actual filming grounds of the korean drama serial depicting court life and politics, food and the royal lifestyle somewhere around the 17th century. The top right picture is actually's Chang Jin's handprint.

The jail grounds where they were imprisoned.

All these look familiar?

The top left picture is where Chang-jin hid the bottle of Vinegar.

Bow to me...

The gate where Chang-jin was surprised to find closed.

Familiar scenes?
After that we went to see the political grounds, something similar to singapore's Sultana.

A pretty fountain, on the right is the parliament house, and the backdrop is "North Mountain"

A royal guard directing traffic in the middle of the road.
Then it was shopping time! We went to Dongdaemun Market and Jeonju shopping district in Seoul.

Giant Doota shopping complex, shops are arranged in similar styles to Heeren. Imagine a giant ANNEX spanning 10 stories with it's own foodcourt on the top level. The whole building is like Heeren.

Even the Dong Dae Mun Stadium (baseball stadium) has shops around it's circumference, surrounded by makeshift shops.

The shopping district in Jeonju has at least 20 other buildings like this. Spent 2 days here.

Ginseng Chicken dinner!
The next two days, we went further into Seoul, spending the night at the Holiday Inn, Seoul.

Myung Dong Shopping district, imagine a GIANT Chinatown/ANNEX/Orchard Road Mix.

Lotte, Seoul's largest shopping centre, about the size of Malaysia's Time Square with it's own amusement park inside.

Lotte World is like a small city with an amusement park, folk museum, sports center (including a skating rink and pool/water slide park), shopping center, and hotel. Most facilities are indoors, so they can be enjoyed throughout the year. The central area is open, so that several levels of people can watch the other people ice skating, enjoying the rides, eating, and shopping.

Yes, an indoor-open ice-skating rink!!

Finally, day 8, it's time for us to depart. Incheon International Airport for another 6 hour flight back to Singapore.
