Finally it's the end of another week. It's been 6 months of training and another 3 more months to go. It's a long journey and I still have a long distance to go. It seems that I have been the IC for long arduous and unlucky weeks when the instructors are pissed with the other cadets for whatever dumb reasons.
Today I went to the IT Fair 2007! I've been looking forward to this fair for several months and needed to do some serious retail therapy and have been dreaming about the fair for the past few nights every time I retired to my bunk.
This year's IT Fair 2007 is the largest ever and the organizers are expecting 700,000 people over the 4 days that the fair is going to run and they've booked the whole Suntec City Convention hall for it! The place was already teeming with people at 11am when the doors were not open yet. Level 2 was the Sony attractions showcasing their much awaited Sony Playstation 3 going at an eye-popping $799 for the 60gb version! Level 3 was entirely Microsoft touting their Office 2007 and Vista OS. Level 4 was all the big boys, HP, Acer, Lenovo, Samsung, Panasonic, Canon etc, and level 5 was all the smaller booths selling accessories and other assorted items.
The place is just as crowded as ever and I merely spent 2 hours hunting for my stuff. Actually I already had the route planned out and wore boots to avoid my toes from getting trodden on. After 2 hours, I was thoroughly exhausted but contented with my purchases.

I got myself a swanky new 19-inch widescreen Samsung Lcd monitor at a steal of $299! Plus a Razer ProClick 1.6 mouse with accompanying Razer eXactmat mousepad for a total of $59. A stack of DVD+Rs for $13, 4 HP ink cartridges. A new Philips base headphones at $9! And last but not least, a Pioneer DVD-HDD 160 Gb recorder for $599! I splurged a whole month's pay in just 2 hours. Gosh, but what bliss and temporal happiness it brought for the day =).
My white Razer ProClick 1.6 mouse with accompanying Razer eXactmat mousepad. 1600 DPI of gaming sensitivity!

All the free goodies that came along with my purchases..
TitoudaoAfter the playing with my toys, I went for a play. Surprise Surprise, I went to see "Titoudao" by Toy Factory Productions. It's a high-class "Street Wayang" or "Getai" that you have seen last time on the streets with high-pitched hokkien music and acting.
The play is at the NLB main branch Drama centre. I never really expected myself to indulge in such plays and drama acting and the Arts. But the lead actress Pam Oei was beyond talented, all the actors were talented but she really outshone herself! Really incredible talent and able to switch roles seemlessly.
The 2-hour play was excellent and incredibly hilarious, some prerequisites are that you have to be able to understand chinese and Hokkien to fully appreciate the play. Very well done and very entertaining indeed.

Countless stories have been told about attempting the impossible. This one soars higher. Petite kampong gal Oon Ah Chiam reaches stars by laddering on her perseverance and beliefs. As Singapore building tower higher, her dreams are silhouetted by cold concrete urbanization.
