Finally, the morning dawned and I handed over my duties before going down to Watten heights to visit some relatives.
It was a rare occasion that her aunt from Switzerland (married to a German) and their children come to Singapore to visit, and the semi-D at Watten Height condo was really quite luxurious! Though not as posh as places around Namly Avenue, it was a comfortable place to be at. At night, I left on a last minute whim to watch the NDP fireworks.
So we rushed to esplanade as I drove down, giving adik a lift to Suntec before finally parking at Esplanade and rushed up into the throng of a crowd! It was just too crowded to properly describe the density of the human traffic at the esplanade.
However, I was disappointed to find out that there are no fireworks for today's preview, what a waste! And to think I rushed down for nothing, there was no actual preview and I just ended up heading home to change.
Went out to meet up with some old sec-sch pals, unfortunately not everyone could make it, but it's my first time seeing her in 7 years! The last time was back in sec3. It was quite a nostalgic feeling but we chatted like we were friends for years =)
We went to Velvet Dragon to club, I wanted to bring them to MOMO, but apparently the place has changed its name to Velvet Dragon and the inner ambiance changed a little, but still the same R&B music genre and affordable drinks. We left at about 3am because the girls wanted to go over to their pub for some food and drinks, I wasn't into that pub at all, the drinks were more expensive, the Nachos were lousy and we met a funny character who's gay, he was quite irritating actually.
The guy wasn't someone to be fooled with, then again, I am not known for being slow or dim-witted either. He tried to chat me up as well, constantly citing that I was "hot", that was quite unnerving for me, and it definitely got the other guys worried, though they didn't know how to hide that emotion.
I casually brushed him off, then that gay also tried to exert himself as a superior person who does real work with real money and was familiar with the night scene here, so naturally the rest will try to out-impress others with tidbits of information on how they were better as well. I recognized this situation and kept a low profile, no sense joining in a pointless verbal farce ain't it?
But the pub closed at about 4am, and we all had our fill, we parted and headed for home. I was completely sober, didn't drink much for the night, but the company was good.
